The Acting President of Kuwait University, Prof. Dr. Mishari Lafi Al-Harbi, received a delegation from the Korean Institute of Science and Technology and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences on Tuesday morning 6/2/2024, in the administrative auditorium of the administrative building in Sabah Al-Salem University City - Al-Shadadiya, to discuss ways of cooperation, enhancing scientific culture, building digital capabilities in society, developing STEM education, and joint programs, in addition to enhancing cultural, scientific and academic cooperation.
At the outset, the Acting President of Kuwait University, Prof. Mishari Al-Harbi, praised the depth of relations between the two countries, stressing Kuwait University's keenness to expand the horizons of scientific and cultural cooperation between all countries of the world and to learn about the latest academic developments and the most important research and scientific developments.
In turn, the Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Fahad Muhammad Al-Fadhli, explained that Kuwait University's hosting of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences with the Korean delegation for science and technology comes within the framework of discussing ways of cooperation between Kuwait University and the Korean Institute of Science and Technology in various research fields and academic visits for faculty members, researchers and students.
For his part, the Acting President of the Research Department at the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), Dr. Ali Bu Majdad, said that KFAS signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korean Institute of Science and Technology with the aim of promoting scientific culture and building digital capabilities in society, adding that the visit to Kuwait University today to activate the terms of the agreement and encourage local academic institutions to cooperate with the Institute.
In the same context, the Acting Assistant Vice President of Kuwait University for Faculty Affairs and Cultural Relations, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sulaili, said that there will be many areas of cooperation with the Korean Institute of Science and Technology. For its part, the Korean delegation gave a visual presentation on the field of research and development in projects related to artificial intelligence and digital transformation, in addition to projects to develop and disseminate educational content online, as well as model projects that contribute to technology transfer.
