Kuwait University Signs MoU with Mitsubishi Power Limited

Under the slogan “Develop yourself, Develop your work”, Kuwait University has signed MoU with Mitsubishi Power Limited – Kuwait branch, on Monday 3/6/2024 at the university council hall, in Sabah AlSalem University Campus. The event took place in the presence of the Acting President Prof. Nawaf Al-Mutairi and the Acting Dean of the College of Engineering and Petroleum Prof. Khaled AlHazza.

On the Mitsubishi Power Limited – Kuwait Branch side, the General Manager Eng. Ahmed Monir the General Manager, Eng. Yuta Ozawa – Deputy General Manager and a number of Japanese engineers attended the event.

At the beginning, the Acting President Prof. Nawaf AlMutairi stressed that the ongoing agreements between KU and the leading international companies have major role in boasting collaboration  in the academic, research and professional fields, and supporting students in the field of training and qualification for the labor market. Noting that Mitsubishi Power Limited is one of the distinguished companies successful in transferring knowledge and technology to serve the university’s students with regard to the training program in the field of thermal power generation, especially that the agreement is in line with empowering the private sector in providing the university students with the experiences in this field.

On his side, the General Manager of Mitsubishi Power Limited– Kuwait Branch, Eng. Ahmad Monir stated that this agreement is a first between the two parties and it aims to exchange experiences in the field of thermal power generation through an educational training course, in order to provide students with the experience in the field of thermal power generation.

In the same context, Acting Dean of the College of Engineering and Petroleum Prof. Khaled AlHazza pointed out that the ongoing collaboration between KU represented by the College of Engineering and Petroleum and major companies is in line with the university’s plan to benefit from the experiences and develop the various skills of the students, noting that the agreement with one of the major companies that has contracts for the rehabilitation and operation of many power stations is an opportunity for the students of the College of Engineering and Petroleum, the Mechanical Engineering Department, to gain the academic experience and knowledge in a professional scope in the thermal power generation sector, hoping that the intensive efforts between Kuwait University and Mitsubishi Power Limited will continue to conclude more agreements to include research and laboratories.
