Kuwait University Organizes Workshop on 'Automating the Evaluation System for Teaching Assistantship Applicants'

The Office of the Vice President of Kuwait University for Scientific Affairs organized an online workshop titled “Automating the Evaluation System for Applicants of the Teaching Assistantship Scholarship Position”, presented by the Acting Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman Daham Al-Salili. The workshop aimed to introduce the system mechanism, standardize interview procedures, and enhance work efficiency. It was attended by members of scholarship committees from various faculties of Kuwait University.

Approximately 100 academic staff members attended the workshop, during which the automated system for receiving and reviewing applicants’ files for the teaching assistantship position was explained. The workshop also reviewed the use of the electronic system and the procedures followed in evaluating applicants. Participants’ inquiries were addressed, and several organizational aspects related to the interview process were discussed, contributing to improved performance, procedural integration, and ensuring transparency and fairness in the evaluation process.

Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Salili, Acting Vice President for Scientific Affairs, mentioned that the automation of applications for the teaching assistantship announcement for the 2023-2024 academic year was carried out in collaboration between the Office of the Vice President for Scientific Affairs and the Office of the Vice President for Academic Support Services. The automation included the evaluation process of applicants for the teaching assistantship position through scholarship committees in the academic departments and faculties of the College of Engineering and Petroleum, College of Life Sciences, and College of Social Sciences for the 2024-2025 academic year. He also announced that electronic evaluation will be implemented for all faculties for the scholarship announcements of the current 2025-2026 academic year.

Prof. Dr. Al-Salili expressed his gratitude to those responsible for the workshop in the Scholarship and Cultural Relations Department and the Information Systems Department of the Academic Support Services Sector.
